Big Vibrant and Visually Exciting Costumes Adorn The Parade Route as Young Kids Keep the Jump-Up Spirit Alive

Miami-FL — This year’s presentation of the Miami Broward Jr. Carnival was one of the most creative, colorful and energetic. This colorful and joyous family event has become a staple within the fabric of South Florida’s cultural lining. A sense of pride and excitement was the look on all of the kids’ faces. The tone of celebrating young people and their culture filled Central Broward Regional Park.  With 10 participating bands and over 2,500 attendees, the event contained as much of the enthusiasm and sense of celebration for the  Carnival culture as the upcoming Miami Broward Carnival Parade of Bands that will take place on Sunday, October 13th at Sun Life Stadium.

Participants in the Children’s Carnival range from preschoolers to young teens.  Heritage TNT band won the bragging rights of 2013 Junior Band of the Year with their portrayal of Fantasea. Fantasea -is a portrayal of the beauty of the Islands of the Caribbean and an opportunity to educate  children about their heritage – including the achievements of these two islands in the development of the steelpan and the two Icons in music and sport, the late Bob Marley and Usain Bolt, the worlds’ fastest man.

The Junior King of Carnival prize went to Jaden Chan Tack (portrayal “King of the Lion”) from Heritage TNT, Junior Queen of Carnival is Jazmeen DeGannes (portrayal “Antilla – Carnival of the Sea”), also from Heritage TNT.  The Junior Male Individual of the Year is  Nicholas Sinanan (portrayal “Fancy Sailor Boy”) from Royalty Kids and the Junior Female Individual of the Year is Aniyah Marryshow (portrayal “Sailing”) from Mas Dynasty.
