In celebration of 30 years of Carnival in South Florida, Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee Inc., a management collaboration between Miami Carnival Inc and Broward Caribbean Carnival Inc.(BCCI), announced the renewal of their event management agreement and confirmed that this year’s Miami Broward Carnival will be held on Sunday, Oct. 12, during Columbus Day Weekend in South Florida.
Venue details are pending logistic confirmations and will be announced shortly.
“The host committee recognized the concern and outcry from the community with regards to the recent announcement of the change of date of the Carnival and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to your personal plans or business operations,” a spokesperson said in a release. “We faced a series of challenging hurdles in making the prior decision as a result of Sun Life Stadium no longer being available. Given the input from all stakeholders regarding the value of Columbus Day Weekend, we are exercising all best efforts to ensure a successful Carnival on Oct.12.”
In addition to addressing operational and administrative improvements, the committee members said they are committed to having more consistent communication and collaborations with various community stakeholders, including mas bands, steel bands, Jouvert bands, and promoters.
“We look forward to welcoming you at the official launch of our 30th Anniversary on Saturday, July 19 at Sun Life Stadium (2269 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, 33056).
