July 1, International Reggae Day, heralded the coming of one Europe’s largest Caribbean cultural gatherings. For the last 23 years Benicàssim, Spain has hosted a week-long festival for thousands of reggae enthusiasts. More than 50 international (predominantly reggae) artist will take to the seven stages performing music, selling merchandise, and spreading messages of consciousness and unity. On July 8 local reggae performers will kick off the celebrations for the festival beginning August 13.
