While we in the states prepared our grills and guest lists, the three days preceding this nation’s independence held an entirely different meaning in Germany and Belgium. July 1-3 brought to these two countries incomparable lineups and thousands of fans. Couleur Café Festival in Cologne and Summer Jam in Brussels were separated my more than 200 km, but bound by 100% vibes. The festival touted international artists of other genres, and featured long-time reggae and Dancehall favorites such as Mr. Vegas, Morgan Heritage, Chronixx, and Raging Fyah. Perhaps next year, we will book flights and watch fireworks from the other side of the pond.
